After moving from the UK to Byron Bay in 2002, Peter and Cressy Campbell, realised just how difficult it was to source high quality, gourmet ingredients for their kitchen. In 2009 they bought Blue Bay Gourmet, then a small business, and built it from the ground up to deliver the best local and international ingredients to restaurants and businesses in Northern NSW and Southern Queensland.
Working round-the-clock to grow the business in the initial years, Peter and Cressy embedded themselves in the regional food and hospitality industry, intimately getting to know the needs and wants of local restaurants and chefs. They understood the tourism appeal of the region, and the need for local businesses to keep up with the high expectations set by international restaurants and celebrated chefs. They worked with suppliers and importers from Australia and overseas to stock a warehouse full of the finest foods, ensuring local businesses were equipped with the best ingredients to create standout menus.
